Alongside the strategic consultations & trainings I do with clients, workshops are definitely one big pillar of the services I offer at B!Social. During the past 2 years, I enjoyed developing & fine tuning a method and a set of signature courses that deliver practical, hands-on learning by doing, at the same time providing a great social experience, too.

Here is to the Team B!Linked at our last LinkedIn Workshop, that happened to be a special number for this special month. This was our 15th Workshop!

Check out how this group started to raise their profile and grow their business/ organisation with the help of this exponentially growing, also still very underused social media platform, and putting things into action instantly.

It's the time to #bsocialnow !

Behind the Scenes at the B!Social Workshop - Let's Get Started!

This Workshop filled up quick, and we are just about to start diving deep! Manager of the Nelson Tasman Business Trust, Sarah Holmes did an awesome job helping me set up the room and look who were the first to arrive! We enjoyed snapping some behind the scenes, who would have thought. :)
Welcome Mark & Jemma! Special shout out to both, for Mark's awesome branded pens and skills :) and to Jemma who flew in all the way from Wellington just to attend the workshop! Wow, what a dedication! Nelson is quickly becoming a destination for social media trainings as it looks like :)

"We can brand anything for you, even a carrot!" - Mark French in the spotlight as we introduce ourselves to each other in a fun way at the B!Social Workshop.

"Bea is amazing. I really have learnt so much. This is going to help me not only with my job but also my personal social media. Thanks Bea - From Jemma all the way from Wellington :) " - Jemma Morgan, Cuttriss Consultants Ltd

Meet the Participants!

It was a wide variety of businesses & industries joining us - marketing, engineering, IT, arts, agriculture, translation services, health & wellbeing, life & money coaching, pet food, and also two charities. All wanting to leverage the opportunities that this platform has to offer.

One of the common things, too - they all want the best for their clients & communities, to support & empower them, and all have lots of knowledge & expertise to share that will make a difference! Let's see how to do it!
Angela Cheruseo

Time to B!Social, and all the way from Tauranga, too!

A big welcome to
Angela Cheruseo who is passionate about equipping and empowering busy women to break through their fears and create the extraordinary life and business of their dreams.
Angela runs her own coaching business and she decided to join the LinkedIn workshop to learn valuable tips on how she could showcase her expertise and stand out, as well as implement tips straight away without having to spend hours researching on her own, in a fun and supportive environment.

Elisabeth Johnston - ADAMA New Zealand
Picture
Elisabeth is the Marketing Manager of ADAMA New Zealand, a crop protection company that helps NZ farmers and growers optimise the potential of their yields and future productivity.

I just found out that ADAMA is actually a global company operating in 100+ countries - how exciting to know that in NZ they are based in our very own Nelson!
On the other hand, Elisabeth is also the Co-Founder & Director of bizSearch Ltd, together with her husband. Here, it’s all about providing unique products to retail businesses to boost profit & growth, by empowering consumers to make better choices to suit their lifestyle.
Two businesses, two roles. One personal profile. Elisabeth’s story might resonate with some of you who are wearing multiple hats & involved in several businesses. How to manage & promote everything in one place? She decided to join us to better understand & make the most of this platform, as well as explore how it can be used for businesses, and also for herself personally.

Sandrine Savarit - Legal and Financial Translations
Picture
Sandrine is a language geek aka translator and interpreter, and she coordinates translation projects in all languages.

She can translate even the most challenging legal and financial documents into English, French, and Italian.
So far she has mostly worked for bigger language services providers but now it's time to "cut the middle men…. and go direct".

She decided to join us hoping that she will come out with a plan to implement, and would like to find a way to like and have fun with social media!
Great workshop, can't wait to get started. Very practical and gives you an excellent idea of where to start.

Sandrine Savarit |  Translator & Interpreter

This workshop was quite special as it wasn't only businesses coming to learn more about social. It was a great honour to be able to support two amazing local charities through this workshop.

The best way I can give back is by offering my knowledge so organisations like theirs can help spread the word about how they can make an enormous difference, and how people can support them to deliver change. A special welcome to both!
Willow Duffy & Kirsten Taylor - Safeguarding Children Initiative
Picture
Willow is the CEO of Safeguarding Children Initiative, a registered charity and a leading provider of safeguarding and child protection training and consultancy in New Zealand.

Safeguarding Children helps organisations and communities to become safer for children and young people. They provide specialist consultancy and training that strengthens the skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers and enhances internal processes and procedures.

Did you know that this innovative charity has trained more than 14,000 people across the country how to protect children from abuse? Lots of interesting new courses are now open if you would like to learn more!
Also, a special shoutout to Willow for being a finalist in the New Zealand Women of Influence Awards in 2017.

A great recognition of what she is doing in this space!
Picture
As a parent myself, I am keen to educate myself more about this topic and it feels right to be able to support such an important cause.

Willow decided to join us to learn how to inspire digital communities to safeguard and protect children.
Bea's energy, passion and knowledge is just inspiring. We are so lucky to have her in our region. The power of relationships to create change for children is now at our fingertips. Than you Bea.

I had the opportunity to learn quite a lot about their activities and visit their wonderful new premises, too.
Hudson decided to join us for advice on how to use this platform to engage with his network – and beyond – to further his organisation’s goals, specifically growing support for their charity in the form of fundraising and market profile.

Picture
Not only is Bea's enthusiasm for social media infectious, she brings a strategic approach that can tie in with and support your overall business strategy.

Team in Action

A big day, lots of learning, and great new connections made.
Picture
Some of the biggest takeaways were understanding:
  • the benefits of developing a social media strategy to get started & stay focused
  • how to use social networking & #bsocialnow ?
  • the importance of engaging with our network
  • how to tell our stories & structure posts so it resonates & brings value to our audience
  • and the benefits & the opportunity in showing up as a content creator.
The number of people actively and strategically creating content on this platform is minimal. This will change soon, but as of now, this means a huge opportunity to the few who dare to show up, put themselves out there and start sharing their messages and expertise.

No one will a buy a secret, or engage with you if they don't know about what you have to offer, right?
So, the best way to start, is to actually start doing it.

So what makes a fantastic workshop? For me, the most valuable ones I attended were: inspiring, empowering, we were learning by doing, team building & connecting, growing & sharing, and I will never forget the fun moments, the play, the good vibes and the way this whole experience made me feel.

Yes, my best ones were an
experience to remember. It felt special.

My aim was and is to recreate this atmosphere through my own workshops, provide value and give my full attention to the participants, and have fun along the way. I think we can say that it seems like it was not only me having enormous fun, as I love what I do, but this fantastic team, too.

Have a look at the video and we'll let you decide :)

We are now wired for success and all ready to B!Linked. :)
