With all the stuff that's happening right now locally, I made the decision to shift most of our events online for now! Especially that we don't know how the next weeks, months will evolve. We just simply cannot plan as there can be last minute surprises (and headaches) popping up...
Physical isolation is now a big thing. But it doesn't mean you have to feel alone. It doesn't mean you cannot connect and feel supported, nourished and enjoy being in the company of people with who you lift each other up. It also means you can attract people to you. You can attract new customers, prospects. You can support your clients. You can do business and grow your business. Here is what I learned and how I adapted to change, and here is how you might be able to, too.

What does being social mean? An important question to ask ourselves, especially when it comes to social interactions, and relating with people.
This, of course includes social networking. It also includes using the social media platforms as a tool to connect, build and nurture relationships with others. For business, and of course, not only for business. Welcome to the newest edition of * B!Social * B!True * B!You *! Wohhooo here is to this great team showing up today for the Social Media Trends 2022 live event!
We explored trends, stats, platforms, perspectives around how to do this whole social media thing for business! Or much rather how can it be done with clarity, focus, intention and yes, feeling good, great about it! Here is a recap!
Realise. Reflect. Review. Reinvent. Relaunch. Lots of R words for today as we discussed some of our lessons learned from lockdown, the past few months, how our businesses, and we adapted to the sudden changes, and what opportunities we see ahead.
I was joined by a fantastic group of local businesses to exchange experiences, and here are some of the takeaways I really enjoyed so I thought I’ll share. Some are your words, some are mine, as I try to reflect the essence of our conversations, in no particular order of importance, as it is different for each of us.
Following the wonderful feedback from you all, I am excited to share with you the latest "B!Socials in the Spotlight" series - yes, now it's turned into a series! - featuring my lovely clients who we had the chance to work together with on their Social Media Marketing, and who are each doing some amazing things in their respective fields.
A big shoutout to you all who stepped up, decided to invest in yourselves, put in time & some thinking behind your posts to bring real & valuable content to your clients, dared to be brave, do something new or out of your comfort zone, and to all of you who chose to B!Social with us in the past few months to take your business or organisation to another level. Here is to leveraging the power of Social Media!
Everyone, please meet the B!Socials - connect with them, follow them, B!inspired by them and their top tips! And who knows, you or a friend might actually need one of them in your life, right now?! :) Alongside the strategic consultations & trainings I do with clients, workshops are definitely one big pillar of the services I offer at B!Social. During the past 2 years, I enjoyed developing & fine tuning a method and a set of signature courses that deliver practical, hands-on learning by doing, at the same time providing a great social experience, too. Here is to the Team B!Linked at our last LinkedIn Workshop, that happened to be a special number for this special month. This was our 15th Workshop! Check out how this group started to raise their profile and grow their business/ organisation with the help of this exponentially growing, also still very underused social media platform, and putting things into action instantly. It's the time to #bsocialnow !
Last week was big for me. I flew over to Sydney to receive my Finalist Certificates for the Social Media Marketing Awards Australia & New Zealand, the industry's biggest award in our region. I was voted into the TOP 5 by a select group of international judges, in 2 categories:
The past few days have been quite intense, with of course, the Gala Ceremony being the highlight of last week! I am feeling a tremendous amount of excitement, honour and pride to be a finalist. Also, receiving lots of valuable feedback from my colleagues gave me an awesome boost and professional reassurance to keep continuing what I do in this space. And then, when I arrived back home, a sense of tiredness rushed through me. It’s like, you know, when you are on a road trip, it’s amazing, you gain lots of new experiences, and then finally you arrive, ready to take a break, pause, and just contemplate on the memories while you look back on your trip. Now that’s what happened to me. So I took a few days to reflect, look back, evaluate, and of course treasure the moments, the journey. The B!Social journey that started almost 2 years ago, right here, in Nelson, New Zealand. Born out of a new challenge, and with it, a complete new me was born. Thank you to each and every one of you who have been following, were/ or are part of this journey. Here are some of my favourite highlight moments of the Social Media Marketing Awards Gala Dinner. Thank you Social Media Marketing Institute, I will never forget! I am now back, full of new energies, inspiration, and lots of valuable new knowledge to share. And if you are curious to hear how the B!Social journey started, just keep reading :)
How can businesses create & leverage communities around their products/services with the help of Social Media? I'm bringing you today an exciting live case study from the luxury watch industry. An example of an engaged worldwide community connected through - yes, a simple hashtag.
Check out this special video interview with Balázs Ferenczi, Content Marketing Manager of Chrono24, an online platform for watch sellers & buyers, and also the editor of the online Fratello Magazine. He shares with us not only the success story behind #SpeedyTuesday, but also how online communities can be taken back offline to connect fans in real life. From all over the world! I'm very excited about this topic as I feel this is at the heart of Social Media Marketing today. #offlineisthenewblack ?! This is something I would recommend smart businesses to definitely leverage in a creative way as we move into a more and more digitalised world! Using social media to connect people. Create communities. Not only online, but back to basics, offline. A big theme throughout Social Media Marketing World #SSMW19 this year, and the inspirational closing keynote of Mark Schaefer. Tune in to the video or read the full interview below.
Notes from my imaginary LinkedIn Diary:
Excitement in the air. Looking forward to some special moments to share. It’s finally time. It’s time to meet the people behind their LinkedIn profiles.
On the occasion of World Social Media Day, let's connect, let's celebrate - globally, and also locally - here in Nelson, New Zealand! With #bsocialnelson, my aim is to bring the local community together and inspire each other on how we use social media in our businesses, and what we love about it. I would love you to join!
