Meet the B!Socials

Picture
You might remember Roxy and Michael of Scan4U from the BizNet where they shared their initial success story with Social Media after having participated at one of our signature Social Media Workshops.

They have now taken their photo scanning business to the next level by completing our personalised Social Media Strategy training.
Picture
A great cooperation between the Scan4u, B!Social and WildMedia Teams

We were absolutely in awe when we saw they got the hang of it so quickly, tuning in to a way to create content that fits them and their business. The before & after photos speak for themselves. And, they even got into video (!!!) to tell their story and how they can help their customers save those precious family photos & documents for future generations.
Picture
Bea has been exceptionally patient teaching two old dinosaurs like us the ins and outs of social media. We are taking it to the next level with her training and posting videos that are bound to win us an Oscar!

Michael Gilbert | Scan4U

Thank you Michael & Roxy, so much fun to work with you both! :)
Keep those posts coming!
TOP TIP from Michael: Post at times when people are checking, make the post relevant and interesting. Don't post for the sake of posting as it drives traffic away.

A big welcome to Tony Cadigan who has been appointed this year as Chief Executive Officer of the Nelson Building Society, New Zealand’s oldest building society. Owned by and committed to the people who bank with them.

With Tony’s new role, it was just the perfect time for him to get on LinkedIn and start connecting with like-minded people in the financial industry.

It was a pleasure working with you on your LinkedIn profile, Tony! All the best in your new leadership role!
TOP TIP: If you are in a leadership role where you have a lot of visibility, you definitely want to have a solid, optimised LinkedIn profile that is up-to-date. Bonus: Search engines love it, too!

Bringing wonderful smiles of confidence to the Team who are literally delivering smiles of confidence all over our region.

And tapping into the power of social with Kylie, who is behind the posts at
Nelson Orthodontics, the only Orthodontics clinic in the Top of the South, and North of Canterbury on the South Island.
They have been sharing their expertise for over 20 years. Following a rebranding and our Social Media Strategy Training for a fresh new start, Kylie is now uniting the Team and sharing the Clinic's stories and tips with the help of Social Media.

Have a look and peek behind the scenes, based in Nelson. Not only a super professional, but also a super friendly Team.

Loved working with you Kylie, a big congratulations on completing the training and keep up the great work! Love the way you embraced the strategy through your creativity and the Instagram Stories, too!

I have recently undertaken a one on one 4 week course with Bea to improve our digital marketing and social media platform.
Bea was professional and had so much enthusiasm to support ideas and help create an awesome strategic plan for our business.

Since undergoing this course I have felt so much more confidence in knowing how to promote our business on a social platform!  Bea really helped with explaining digital advertising on a social level which was new to me, but she made this really easy to grasp with her planning and guidance.

Our staff and team have got right behind all our ideas and have since started chipping in, too.  It’s really brought us together as a team!  Thanks Bea!

Kylie Davies | Nelson Orthodontics

Social Media Marketing can bring a lot of possibilities for businesses that want to grow and scale. But can Social Media be used for a non profit organisation or a charity, you might wonder?

Well, if you would like to make a difference in your community, raise awareness about the topic and values you represent as an organisation, and maybe explore new opportunities for collaborations, the answer is yes!
Picture
Working with the inspiring Team at Safeguarding Children Initiative has not only been one of the most exciting and challenging projects, but also one of the most educational experiences, too, where I learned a lot as a parent myself.
Child protection, abuse and neglect are not easy topics. Often, they are avoided, and not talked about. It was very insightful to learn about the fantastic work Willow and Kirsten are doing to raise awareness, educate, empower and support us all who want to make a difference. To make our communities safer for our children.
I saw the potential in Social Media. We want to create communities to protect children from abuse and neglect. Community is a key, I believe, to protecting children.
So it's thinking about what does a community mean in the 21st century.

It's not just a physical or geographical location, it can be many things. It can be a digital presence.

We can use Social Media to raise awareness & educate, to prevent abuse from happening and also a way of getting children get help. It's not just promoting our services. It allows us to reach our people, our community.

It's us adults around children who can help protect them. We all have a part to play. The more people trained in how to recognise and respond to child abuse, vulnerability and neglect the better for our tamariki. We have enjoyed working with Bea learning how to spread the word about the work we do.

Willow Duffy | CEO, Safeguarding Children Initiative

TOP TIP from Willow: Have a plan & a strategy. Otherwise you will post 3 posts in a day and nothing for 6 weeks.

Spring has sprung and it was time to B!Social with Andrea from Garden with Fertilizer New Zealand.

How to do honest Social Media? That is also more fun, and that will be also interesting for our audiences? These were the topics we explored with Anna from Renew.
I'm at a point where I'm a little bit over Social Media. I'm sick of promoting our work, it's all about us. I'm wanting to find some fun back in Social Media so I can actually keep loving what I do, which is what my work is all about. Social Media for me has to be honest.
Tune in to our meeting if you can relate.

Anna facilitates workshops and retreats where people can learn a variety of communication tools and techniques, including Non-Violent Communication, and become more compassionate with each other, and even more so, with themselves.

Honesty, here too, is quite a big element, I found. It's a technique I personally found life changing and could use it for both my personal and professional development. You can hear more about my experience here.

If you are dealing, communicating with your clients, or managing your social media presence and have to sometimes respond to challenging comments, I can highly recommend it, along Anna's courses. Very useful. Have a look!

Showing up and owning ourselves, our ideas, sharing our experience on Social Media can be a scary, "out of our comfort zone" type of experience. Especially showing up on video.

I believe we all have a story to share. And when the stories are ready, but we are not quite there yet, sometimes, we just need a little push, some extra support from someone who has been there and done that, to get us started. :)

It's been amazing watching and walking along these talented business owners as they stepped up, got past blockages and tapped into their creativity, skills and sharing their expertise, with the help of Social Media.

Creating happier, more-engaged employees that in turn deliver greater profitability to a business. Shifting mindsets. Better communication. Creating great workplace environments. That's what Gael Gordon stands for.
Picture

And she walked the talk, too. It's been great to work with Gael and witness the transformation, the "Aha" moments and how quickly she started embracing the new perspectives when we talked Social Media Strategy for her business. But let her words do the justice. :)

Keep up the awesome work Gael!
I found our one-to-one session brilliant. I took on board all the suggestions you made, including tweaking my profile and making my posts a bit more impactful. And guess what - I've now had two "trending posts". How cool is that!

Even more, my followers have doubled thanks to lots of interesting new connection requests that have come directly off the back of these posts.

Darn, this social media stuff works (especially when you take the advice of a true professional and expert in this domain.) I am so excited and love that you also stretched me to not only post our "selfie" but also to jump right in and do a video post as well. Thank you so much, you rock!

Gael Gordon | Director, Gael Gordon Thriving Enterprises

Law is boring. Hard to understand. Difficult to post about it on Social Media. Not!
Picture
Especially when you've got the DMK Law Team with you, explaining everything clearly, and supporting you along the way.

Stacey and Amanda formed a new partnership just this year - DMK Law was born, and they now provide practical solutions, and a friendly and supportive legal service when it comes to anything family or employment law.

It was an honour to join them right at the start of their launch and work with them on their social media strategy.
Picture
Great timing to get everything sorted! And WOW, what a journey they've been on! We are so super proud of you with the WildMedia team.
Conquering social media - it's felt like a minefield & we wanted to avoid it! Stacey Daily & the team at DMK Law have felt the fear & done it anyway. With all our thanks to Bea Pole-Bokor. You bring down the barriers, you tell it as it is, you are sensitive to our area of work, & you bring out our creative side. No nonsense direction coupled with so much laughter - we did it. Thank you and all the best for 2020.

Amanda Munting-Kilworth | Director/Solicitor at DMK Law Ltd

Amanda and Stacey are not only very knowledgeable about their respective fields, but they are also super fun, friendly and very people focused.

Their new series, Live from the DMK Boardroom, a first in our region (!) - yes, this is the video we were referring to :) - offers plenty of food for thought and valuable tips, so we can be aware of important topics we would never even think about. They are surely about assisting you in the best possible way through the challenges you or your family may be facing.

Some great Christmas tips there for employers and employees, too!

Tune in and meet the DMK Law Team. :)

TOP TIP from Stacey: Feel the fear and do it anyway!
TOP TIP from Amanda: Be Brave!

Being creative is fun. Being yourself is essential. I couldn't agree more with Janine's words who is behind The Sewing Revival. Inspiration, projects and patterns to delight your wardrobe and make you feel great, though sewing! In an environmentally conscious way.

If you are keen to tap into yesterday's skills for modern times, upcycle & recycle to create new, you can now be part of it. :)

It was lovely to work with you Janine, looking forward to following your journey!

Bea reminded me the importance of focusing on my unique offering and not being all things to all people. To bring myself back to my overall strategy (and making sure I make time for such) and to ensure my social media in is line with that strategy. TheSewingRevival will be better off for it. There was much "food for thought" well after our session. Thanks Bea.

Is Social Media advantageous for a business? A topic we tend to explore together. This time, with Alan from Betta Inspect It.

It was great working with you Alan on developing a social strategy and tapping into the opportunities how a building inspector can tell his story and add value to his audience by using social media.
Picture
And if you are looking forward to buying or selling a property in the Nelson Region, and want to get things right, talk to Alan at Betta Inspect It - Nelson/Tasman, you won't regret it!

And last but not least, celebrating the fantastic local businesses and organisations who joined us for the last Social Media Workshops for 2019!
