Limits. Triggers. Emotions. High on the agenda this week. So many things happened... Not just with my clients, but in me, too, and, on so many levels, in our global interconnected world, and in the world of social media, too. Hard to find the right words... Realizing that something limits us from growing further, or keeps us limited, like rock walls - it’s often our beliefs and mindsets. Like what keeps us back from showing up on social media and talking about our business.... and being really ourselves. Being afraid of judgement - what will others think. What will others say... this was something that came up in almost every meeting this week.
Also... Realizing what triggers us. When we see something. When we read something. When we hear something. When we talk with someone. When we are part of something. When we do something. What do we pretend to be. And how are we, really... It’s like walking through a labyrinth, and reaching a dead end. No way out, you face a wall. You just can’t go further. You can’t keep doing what is comfortable. It triggers. You have to face it. And you can’t fake it. Not this time. The inspiration comes from the Labyrinth Rock Park in Takaka, described as one of the best examples of karst geology in the Southern Hemisphere. Definitely worth visiting if you are around Nelson. As we were walking through the labyrinth, trying to find the way, we stumbled upon this path, and this tree. It just fascinated me. The tree found its way. The rocks/ the wall was there. No fake it till you make it. It’s face it and you make it. It transcended and grew past the limits. The tree found its way. It inspires me to look for the trigger, the limit, the wall. Whatever the situation is. Face it. Feel all the emotions with it. And then find the way. Have an honest conversation. About topics that trigger. For whatever reason. With others. With ourself. I think a lot starts here. I wish us all a rich self-reflection. It starts within.
