“Do you want to be a judge at this year’s Young Enterprise Awards? It is on the 29th of October - last year you were travelling, I hope not this year.”
When Ventura Fitzgerald, the Coordinator of the Event contacted me via LinkedIn, I knew right away that this year I can and I will say #YES. Yes to the Young Enterprise Regional Final and Awards, yes to supporting today's youthful leaders and tomorrow's best startups in our region. Yes to connecting with our local community. Yes to celebrating and encouraging entrepreneurship. And yes to passing on the knowledge and experience I have gathered along the years. I knew I will have messages to share. I knew there will be ears that will listen and embrace it. But little did I know how this experience will make me reflect, re-evaluate. Tune in and grow. Here is a story of what I learned from the Regional YES Awards. Inspired by #judgelife. How time flies! Yes, spring has sprung, and I have to admit I have no idea where did the last month go! I can't believe we celebrated 2 years in business & the 2nd Anniversary of launching B!Social, from Nelson to the world! :) Here are some exciting updates on what happened in the past few weeks in the B!Social universe. Event highlights:
And, proud to introduce a new feature on the blog: The B!Social Hall of Fame :) Thank you to all the amazing people & my lovely clients for joining me on the journey! :) Here are all the details, read on! It's time to #bsocialnow :)
A big shoutout to these amazing businesses who chose to B!Social with us in the past few weeks, completing a Social Media strategic training session, attending a 1:1 consultation or one of our signature workshops.
A wide variety of industries joined us, ready to leverage and tap into the opportunities, get more visibility, raise their business profile and tell their stories through Social Media: Marketing, engineering, IT, arts, agriculture, translation services, health & wellbeing, life & money coach, leadership coach, pet food, kitchen specialist, orthodontics, seafood, photo scanning, kids entertainment, kids accessories, business association, artesian water, property investment, solar energy and also two charities. Meet the B!Socials :) Alongside the strategic consultations & trainings I do with clients, workshops are definitely one big pillar of the services I offer at B!Social. During the past 2 years, I enjoyed developing & fine tuning a method and a set of signature courses that deliver practical, hands-on learning by doing, at the same time providing a great social experience, too. Here is to the Team B!Linked at our last LinkedIn Workshop, that happened to be a special number for this special month. This was our 15th Workshop! Check out how this group started to raise their profile and grow their business/ organisation with the help of this exponentially growing, also still very underused social media platform, and putting things into action instantly. It's the time to #bsocialnow ! I had the opportunity to attend an inspiring presentation by the Chia Sisters, New Zealand’s most sustainable beverage company, at the Nelson BNZ Networking Event, where they shared their story about how they became a #ZeroCarbon business! Wow, what a fantastic evening! It was an honour to be back to present for the second time with the Nelson Tasman Business Trust and share some of my top tips on how to raise a business profile to grow, get strategic and hopefully enjoy the process, too! ☺️ O Of course, with the help of Social Media. I highlighted the importance of a solid social media strategy and I invited 3 local business owners who started implementing what they learned at the B!Social Workshops and got some great results from it. They joined me on stage to present their absolutely inspiring local case studies.
Last week was big for me. I flew over to Sydney to receive my Finalist Certificates for the Social Media Marketing Awards Australia & New Zealand, the industry's biggest award in our region. I was voted into the TOP 5 by a select group of international judges, in 2 categories:
The past few days have been quite intense, with of course, the Gala Ceremony being the highlight of last week! I am feeling a tremendous amount of excitement, honour and pride to be a finalist. Also, receiving lots of valuable feedback from my colleagues gave me an awesome boost and professional reassurance to keep continuing what I do in this space. And then, when I arrived back home, a sense of tiredness rushed through me. It’s like, you know, when you are on a road trip, it’s amazing, you gain lots of new experiences, and then finally you arrive, ready to take a break, pause, and just contemplate on the memories while you look back on your trip. Now that’s what happened to me. So I took a few days to reflect, look back, evaluate, and of course treasure the moments, the journey. The B!Social journey that started almost 2 years ago, right here, in Nelson, New Zealand. Born out of a new challenge, and with it, a complete new me was born. Thank you to each and every one of you who have been following, were/ or are part of this journey. Here are some of my favourite highlight moments of the Social Media Marketing Awards Gala Dinner. Thank you Social Media Marketing Institute, I will never forget! I am now back, full of new energies, inspiration, and lots of valuable new knowledge to share. And if you are curious to hear how the B!Social journey started, just keep reading :)
How can businesses create & leverage communities around their products/services with the help of Social Media? I'm bringing you today an exciting live case study from the luxury watch industry. An example of an engaged worldwide community connected through - yes, a simple hashtag.
Check out this special video interview with Balázs Ferenczi, Content Marketing Manager of Chrono24, an online platform for watch sellers & buyers, and also the editor of the online Fratello Magazine. He shares with us not only the success story behind #SpeedyTuesday, but also how online communities can be taken back offline to connect fans in real life. From all over the world! I'm very excited about this topic as I feel this is at the heart of Social Media Marketing today. #offlineisthenewblack ?! This is something I would recommend smart businesses to definitely leverage in a creative way as we move into a more and more digitalised world! Using social media to connect people. Create communities. Not only online, but back to basics, offline. A big theme throughout Social Media Marketing World #SSMW19 this year, and the inspirational closing keynote of Mark Schaefer. Tune in to the video or read the full interview below.
Notes from my imaginary LinkedIn Diary:
Excitement in the air. Looking forward to some special moments to share. It’s finally time. It’s time to meet the people behind their LinkedIn profiles. |
